    Morning all

I've been using D* for a month or so and really enjoying the space

However last few days I've been trying to login to https://joindiaspora.com/users/sign_in and getting the following message

I'm not tech-savvy in this field, should I just keep pressing OK? Is there somewhere else I can login through?

Or is this a temporary problem and maybe I should just wait

    Thx for any replies

    This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect
securely to joindiaspora.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely,
sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are
going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.

    Technical Details

joindiaspora.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate expired on 16/11/11 08:51.

    (Error code: sec_error_expired_certificate)

    This should solve this issue:

    Edit -> Preferencies -> Advanced > coding/encryption -> click "show certificates" -> "servers" -> "add exception" -> type in https://joindiaspora.com and confirm

Let me know if it worked...

Sorry, I forgot to report that over-riding the security certificate does work

but should I be concerned that I need to do this? Does doing this open any kind of security risk?

I don't think it is dangerous: it's just the same certificate joindiaspora as always used, but the fact that it hass expired yesterday...

Anyway i've asked it on diaspora, i guess someone will know more then me about it...

Thanks, the certificate is working again and the problem has gone

Just to confirm, the SSL cert did indeed expire. Unfortunately the timing couldn't have been worse with the passing of poor Ilya.

The certificate has now been renewed and normal service has been restored.

    Anyone understand this?:

    Untrusted Connection [..]

    Technical Details
joindiaspora.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is only valid for the following names:
    *.opendns.com , opendns.com

    (Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)
I cannot add an exception, and I've tried deleting the old exception thinking that it could be an old, incorrect exception that confused FF, but it still doesn't work. Maybe it's an OpenDNS-problem?

    Thanks!

EDIT: Magically out of nowhere it seems to work now, though Pentadactyl still gives me this warning via the color of the status bar:
"The connection is encrypted, but the site's identity has not been verified or it contains unencrypted content"

EDIT 2: Now it also turned blue all by itself indicating:
"The site's domain has been verified and the connection is encrypted"

Problem solved, I guess! XD Hopefully it stays that way.
